THE RETURN

After a long hiatus, I have decided to return to commenting on Indiana politics and in particular, the comedy that constitutes that effort in Northwest Indiana.

The reason for my departure was personal. The reason for my return is support and encouragement from friends, professional colleagues, public servants, and many, many NWI strangers.

I stopped commenting on local events because the usual cast of characters, the tribal chieftains as I have called them, decided to come after my family and me personally. Their attacks against me have always been personal and never about issues; but for the past seven months they have actually not just talked and threatened but have acted to destroy me professionally, personally, and financially. They have attempted to degrade me. They have even gone so far as to attack my religion and my ability to practice my religion. They have pulled out “all the stops” so to speak. They may even believe they have succeeded. I know that is not, and cannot be, the situation; truth & good always prevail over lies & evil. The tribal politics of NWI is: try to destroy people personally (their jobs and their reputation) when they politically disagree with you.  That is the standard “MO.” For these “tribal leaders,” not much has changed from “the days of old” in which people just vanished; the morality of these individuals remains consistent over the many decades.

I am returning to commenting on the state of affairs in the State. I am also going to take the time to complete my book entitled Northwest Indiana Comical Politics: How Tribalism Continues to Make Policy, to inform the rest of the country that sociologist Max Weber's Tribalism is still at home and doing well in the northwest corner of the State of Indiana.

I may not make an entry everyday, but from time to time and when events call for it, I certainly will still be here.
