Potential candidates for Hammond's 2nd District council seat weigh run : Hammond News.
One has to admit that there are no bigger thieves, today, in Lake County than the McDermott clan. Why Selinas decided to keep quite only his meager intellectual abilities will tell us - if they could. The City of Hammond is insolvent -- nonetheless most of the employees there, and consultants, are making, or stealing, a fortune they could not make anywhere in the private sector.
Dabertin and the new McDermott Chief of Staff, and if you include Tommy McDermott, they are taking out close to $500,000 in "compensation." For what?
What is fascinating is that Tom Philpot went to jail for a minuscule part of the crimes that are being committed on the citizens of Hammond and on Lake County generally.
With all this money going out, where is the so called improvements? What people are not judging is the changes that are suppose to occur. Yes, the elementary schools look good, but graduating from a Hammond school is worthless. With exceptions, the College Bound program, is completely unsuccessful -- except for getting young people out of Lake County.
Sometimes, without laughing too hard, think of what you, as a citizen of Lake County, want the future to be. That is what Tommy Mac and the new councilman are suppose to achieve -- not lining their and their family's pockets. I know that is blasphemy to say; but sadly true.
