In K-12 education, the biggest destructive force in the Hispanic community is bi-lingual education (BL). In California, the voters ended this moronic concept many years ago, as they should have. The majority of Hispanic voters supported the ban. This was an idea that had no basis in reality or fact, except sadly in the pocket books of the Hispanic leaders who pushed for it.

Yes, Hispanics are doing a lot better in California with English immersion than they ever did in bi-lingual education. Educators in universities love BL because it means lots of Federal money coming to them for "research." K-12 educators love it because it brings millions of dollars in to pay teachers to teach students to be stupid in two languages. As long as they get the money, who cares if it predominantly hurts the Hispanic community.
It is time for Indiana, and in particularly NWI to get rid of any semblance of BL. In every case it has been shown to be completely BS, except that it lines the pockets of university educators, school districts, teachers unions, and politicians. Come to think of it, that is everyone in NWI except for the students. In NWI, as long as we are getting the money, the students be damned
